New York Strikers acquire Colombo Strikers franchise in LPL

The franchise, owned by Sagar Khanna, has joined Kandy Falcons, Jaffna Kings, Galle Gladiators, and Dambulla Aura in the five-team competition.

Colombo, 17 May 2023: The New York Strikers, who completed as runners-up in their first season of the Abu Dhabi T10 final year, introduced these days that they have obtained a franchise in the interesting Lanka Premier League, which will be known as Colombo Strikers. The franchise, owned through Sagar Khanna, has joined Kandy Falcons, Jaffna Kings, Galle Gladiators, and Dambulla Aura in the five-team competition.

Sagar Khanna, who owns the Skky Group – a chief in quite a number sectors such as hospitality, retail stores, and actual property – made his first foray into cricket through co-founding the New York-based cricket franchise Skky Strikers. Later, he went on to grow to be the sole proprietor of the franchise. The Skky Strikers witnessed wonderful effects in countless tournaments in the United States of America earlier than the franchise made its way to Abu Dhabi and Sri Lanka.

The Colombo Strikers will be in motion in the fourth version of the Lanka Premier League. The match is slated to be held in July-August 2023.
