MUMBAI – Ahead of the release of his new movie Mission:
Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1, Hollywood actor Tom Cruise wowed Hindi-speaking fans with his fluent Hindi portrayal.
As part of the promotion for his new film, the actor attempted to speak Hindi during an interview with ETalk channel and was praised by an Indian-born journalist for achieving perfect pronunciation on the first try.
“Is there anything I can’t do? Will he speak to me in Hindi?” asked the journalist.
Mr. Cruz was willing to test his Hindi speaking skills by saying, ‘If you want me to speak Hindi, I will.’ Let’s try.” The journalist then asked the actor of “The Last Samurai” to say “Namaste.”
Tom followed up admirably, and the fans lavished praise. Several Indian fans found Cruise’s accent “cute”.
“He is so cute while saying ‘Namaste Aap Kaise Ho’. Is there anything he can’t do,” one user said on Twitter.

“Wow…he speaks Hindi very well,” read one post.
Another fan wrote, “He said Namaste himself, which shows how conscious he is of India and his Indian fans.”
