Islamabad: The creators of ‘Satya Prem Ki Kata’ starring Kartik Aryan and Kiara Advani have come under fire after releasing a new version of Pakistani hit ‘Pasori’.
The music video for the re-created track sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar features actors Kiara Advani and Kiara Advani.
Pasoli was originally sung by Ali Sethi and Shay Gill and was her most searched song on Google in 2022.
As the backlash against “Pasoori Nu” continues, Shay took to Instagram to ask fans not to send hate messages to the team about the new song.
“Actually, I learned about the remake from you all, but I also wanted to talk about the disgust people have towards the new song. We know you love the original Pasoli so much and we are so grateful for all the love. I can’t put into words how grateful I am, but at the same time I hope you don’t take your hatred out on other people,” she said.
Shay Gill said people should “think of it as an interpretation, not a remake”.
She added, “And if it’s something you don’t like at all, don’t listen to the song.” Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Samir Vidwanz, this romantic film reunites Karthik and Kiara in the 2022 hit Bour Bouraya 2. .
The film was previously titled Satyanarayan Ki Katha, which means the story of Satinarayan, another name for the Hindu god Vishnu. However, after a backlash, it was renamed ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’.
The movie was released in theaters today. Also starring Gajiraj Rao and Supriya Pathak.
