Confirmed! Ranveer Singh will certainly be playing the new Don in the third installment of the blockbuster series. Directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Actor, director and producer Farhan Akhtar has finally unveiled his new Don. Ranveer Singh will replace Shah Rukh Khan as the new Don, once again targeted by the ’11 Murkonki Police’. A new teaser introduces Ranveer to the franchise and its loyal fans.
Farhan shared a teaser, tweeting “New era begins #Don3” and also tagged Pushkar Gayatri, though the film will be directed by Farhan himself.
The teaser begins with Ranveer sitting on a skyscraper with his back to the camera. He wears a leather jacket and leather boots, smokes, and introduces himself to the camera.
Farhan shared a note on his Instagram account Tuesday that hinted at a new era for Dong. “It was 1978 that the public first experienced ‘The Wrath of the Don’ starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan,” the memo said. Keeping the charm of the previous film, Excel Entertainment is pleased to announce the return of Farhan Akhtar’s Don as director. The director, who established himself firmly in 2006 and his 2011 iconic action series starring Shah Rukh Khan, will once again push the boundaries of storytelling with Don 3.

Don starred Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani in significant roles. The film was released in 2006 and won the Best Asian Film Award at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival. A sequel was later released in 2011 and was a hit.
Actor Hrithik Roshan makes a special appearance in Don 2.
Farhan directed a remake of his 1978 Don starring Amitabh Bachchan.
